appreciated).
Part of the festival Johann Sebastian Bach -- Slovakia 2005
http://www.juras.sk/bach05/

Date & time: Thursday, July 28, 2005 (concerts should start after 6 PM
and end before 10 PM)
Location: Slovakia (255 cities and villages) and other countries
Title: If you will only let God guide you (Wer nur den lieben Gott lässt
walten)
Program: Johann Sebastian Bach
- Wer nur den lieben Gott lässt walten, choral preludes BWV 642, 647, 690,
691, 691a;
- other works of JSB, not limited to organ (in Bratislava, cantata Wer nur den
lieben Gott lässt walten BWV 93 will be performed) -- the song "If you will only
let God guide you" and/or other songs may be sung -- see
http://www.cyberhymnal.org/htm/i/f/ifyouwil.htm and
Google search for more information
- texts about Bach by Albert Schweitzer and Ivan Kadleèík
Featuring: 255 organists in Slovakia and abroad -- as well as
instrumentalists, singers, choirs, and lecturers
Honorarium for the artists: just a good feeling that they could be a
part of the event (unless agreed otherwise with a local organizer)
Travel expenses or accomodation: an arrangement needs to be made
between the artist and local organizer
Note: not all of choral preludes of Wer nur den lieben Gott lässt
walten need to be performed -- but there has to be at least one
Organizers: if possible, several local organizations should cooperate
to have the concert at one place in a town or village. In larger cities we
recommend that several concerts be performed with time shift (they should take
place between 6 PM and 10 PM)
Benefit: entrance to the concert must be free, the benefit going to
the Cancer research foundation for the purchase of a device called Pulsed Field
Electrophoresis (used for monitoring, diagnosing and repairing chromosomes at
DNA level). Further information may
be provided by Mr. Jan Juras, jan@juras.sk.
Local advertising: organizer will provide time-tested methods of
advertisement, such as invitation cards for people and companies in the
village/town and its surroundings, as well as brochures and posters (posters
will be provided our agency -- it will be necessary to add to them the names of
the performers and exact time and location of the concert) -- you should also
engage local and regional media (radio, TV, newspapers)
Warning: we are trying hard to find financial resources to buy musical
scores with choral preludes -- if this does not work out, we will have to
allocate some money from local organizers for covering the costs of buying the
scores.
Leading organizer -- Agentúra AP projekt Bratislava -- will provide:
- musical score (notes) of choral preludes: Wer nur den lieben Gott lässt walten
(If you will only let God guide you), BWV 642, 647, 690, 691, 691a;
- texts written by Albert Schweitzer and Ivan Kadleèík
- advertising materials: posters, brochures
- advertisement of each local concert in national as well as regional media and
on the Internet
We require the following information from each local organizer before
the concert:
- the beginning of the concert (exact time)
- location of the concert (exact name of the church or concert hall -- and the
name of the street in cities)
- who are the organizers? (city, village, local congregation, culture center,
non-profit organization, etc.)
- is there any patronage? (mayor, ambassador, etc.)
- program of the concert (list of works that will be performed -- do not forget
to include BWV)
- performers (list of names -- do not forget first names and instruments)
- include CV of the organist who will perform Wer nur den lieben Gott lässt
walten in electronic form
- disposition of the organ + a quality photograph in electronic form
We suggest that you also include:
- prints (excerpts) of the invitations to the concert, local invitation cards,
as well as brochures and posters
- photograph of the church in which the concert will take place (in electronic
form)
The following information will be required after the concert:
- confirmation that the concert took place as planned (or what the changes were)
- program of the concert as it happened (speeches, the concert itself, sequel)
- number of participants
- financial results of the benefit
We would be grateful if you could also include:
- photographs from the concert in electronic form
- printouts (excerpts) with information about the concert and similar materials
If you'd like to sign up and joint the festival, please e-mail us above
mentioned materials. You can reach us at: jan@juras.sk
